Listeria validation test swabs, 50/pk

InSite Listeria is an easy-to-use, self contained, environmental Listeria species test. Each device contains a chromogenic liquid media formulated with antibiotics, growth enhancers, and color changing compounds specific to Listeria species. Simply swab the test area and wait. A change in color after 24-48 hours of incubation is considered presumptive positive. No expensive lab equipment is required and no additional sample handling of the sample is necessary.

To use, simply swab a 10 X 10 cm area of the test surface with the premoistened swab tip. Then put the swab back in the tube holder and release the reagent by snapping the valve located at the top. The reagent will drop in the tube and mix with your swabbed sample and its color will change from clear to green if food residues are detected. The more contamination present, the quicker the color change and the darker the color.

InSite listeria can detect concentration of Listeria spp. down to 1-10 CFU/mL but requires incubation at 37°C between 24-48 hours.
